US arrests California man for allegedly smuggling $300m worth of computer servers to China

OMG that’s like 32 GB of DDR 5!

So, what, 6RU these days?

computer servers

The servers contained “US-manufactured graphics processing units (GPUs) commonly used for Super Intelligence (SI)”, it added, using the Trump administration’s new name for artificial intelligence (AI).

What US-made GPUs did he export? The US doesn’t produce any that are really worthwhile for AI use like that. And definitely not back in 2023-2024 like the article says. The Phoenix facility went online in 2025.

That’s just one server with a single GPU and all RAM slots occupied.

Bro needs to learn how they do it at Nvidia, no one went to jail after all their sales to China.

Thank you for your service Mr. Lui. Local Qwen 3.8 27B actually saves time on family projects. 😁
